In landscape the moment is important: the subtle alterations of light in a day, the wheel of the seasons, the event of a leaf turning yellow.

Vermont is truly 'a state I love' to quote a finalist in the state song contest; I find inspiration for my daily work right outside my door.

My reaction to these enfolding hills, these greenly fields, and these clear cold waters is what guides my paintings.

Color has always been central to my explorations for its expressive possibilities as well as its reference to visual reality.

My work is near-abstract in concept, but always has recognizable images of this countryside where I live.
